The Janna Foundation has specifically partnered with the Children’s Education project – a school in Githogoro slum – and their FGM Advocacy and Education project. The partnership has also created a Family Support Project and a Child Sponsorship Programme.
In order to bring about change and eradicate poverty it is vital to think long term and sustainably. Educating children (these, specifically, would not otherwise receive an education) allows them a future with employment which will provide them with food, housing, and a stable life for themselves and their future offspring. It reduces the chance of starvation, sleeping on the streets, having teenage or unwanted pregnancies, experiencing violence and abuse, working in prostitution, and suffering illness through not being able to afford health care.
